About the e-Buffet

My name is Patrick McCormick and the pretty woman on your right is my daughter Emily. We live in Sarasota, Florida, and in April of 2011 we created The e-Buffet Online Magazine.

Tired of watching network and cable news commentators twist and spin the news we wanted to discover the truth about the "Real" people of earth, to learn about their thoughts, their lifestyles and their particular cultures. We wanted to learn about their lives from them... directly. We decided to develop an online magazine… an Ezine.

“Sometimes life just happens to you...sometimes, you make life happen.”

The name e-Buffet was spit out during a conversation I was having with my friend Al Ernst. I mentioned that Emily and I wanted to create an online magazine. Al and I had several different projects in development and I felt we needed a means to prioritize them all… to provide some clarity...some direction. Al asked me if we had thought of a name for it... we had not, but said our creative lives were a Smorgasbord of projects; It needed to be a variety magazine.

"It’s an F-ing buffet", he laughed. a real-life electronic buffet. I stopped talking and looked at him…... we had a name.

Emily and I began to comb the internet for material for our e-Buffet. What we found was enlightening, entertaining and informative. There were volumes of inspired articles, short stories, art, photography, comedy, music and video everywhere we looked. Together, we had stumbled upon the hopes and dreams of our civilization, tucked away in the far reaches of our planet, waiting for someone to appreciate them... waiting for someone to care.

The variety and amount of what we found offered us the opportunity to create an open and honest publication formed from the ideas and insights of all mankind.

Our intention is to provide entertaining material for you to sample in a comfortable environment.

Our goal is to learn the truth about The People of Earth, our neighbors.

Will some of what we publish be controversial? Yes.

Will we favor one political cause over another? No.

Will we stand up for equality and civil rights? Always.

Will we provide a platform for environmental issues? Absolutely.

All of the material we present will be the thoughts and artwork of our creative contributors. We do not issue assignments but present their work as they intended it to be experienced. In that regard, we are a true buffet; all of our contributors have brought something of their own creation for you to sample.

So The e-Buffet was born. Creative Contributors lined up, as if by magic, wanting a place to showcase their material, their thoughts and their insight. In a few weeks, Emily and I had a smorgasbord of creative tidbits waiting for a hungry world to consume them... It was truly an electronic Buffet.

The e-Buffet has been given life by the creative individuals that have submitted their work for your pleasure. It is a true labor of love.
